Maintenance Generalist

Fahrney Keedy in Boonsboro

Full Time/ 40 hours per week    (
occasional weekend as needed by business)

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour

 

 

SUMMARY

 

The Maintenance Generalist will need to possess the following :

Basic computer knowledge a must !! Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

1. Performs general maintenance duties as assigned by supervisor.

2. Reports emergency breakdowns or accidents to supervisor.

3. Works in conjunction with other maintenance staff to maintain the facility program of preventative maintenance.

4. Assists in maintaining the building in good repair and keep free of hazards such as those caused by electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling systems.

5. Ensures the facility is in compliance with Federal, State and Local Laws.

6. Performs regularly scheduled maintenance checks of the facility and exterior grounds (mowing, painting, etc.)

7. Must be able to communicate with all levels of staff, residents and visitors.

8. May be required to paint and perform minor carpentry and repair work.

9. Participates in Fire Drills.

10. Maintains required records and report.

11. Keeps work areas and storage rooms neat and orderly.

12. Required to inspect fire extinguishers in accordance with the facility preventative maintenance schedule.

13. Some assigned duties may be considered "distasteful" (working in cramped quarters, dirty, oily, dusty, etc.) however, this is considered customary for the department.

 

 

 

SAFETY

 

1. Report equipment malfunctions to appropriate staff and complete work orders when indicated.

2. Identify and remove safety hazards/devices and report to appropriate personnel.

3. Assure a safe, clean, and clutter free environment.

4. Utilize standard precautions by wearing protective equipment (goggles, gowns, gloves) when indicated, and uses correct hand washing technique.

5. Follow facility fire and safety policies.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with renovations, construction, and fixing motors. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Valid unencumbered Driver's License
